He also thinks that I may have received a lid for a 17” bottle that has been mislabeled, as a 1.5” opening on a lid won’t fit on a bottle that also has a 1.5” opening. I showed it to my husband, and he felt the inside of the lid he said he couldn’t believe that the manufacturing standards are so poor. If the lid fit my bottle, I’d keep it and try to figure out if there’s a way to push that sharp metal lip in, but sadly, I don’t think there’s a way to do that without ruining the lid. I’d also be concerned about the area behind it being impossible to clean. I almost cut myself on it just feeling how far it sticks out. The lid opening would have to be slightly larger than the 1.5” opening of the bottle, but inside of this lid, the metal isn’t flush against the inner plastic, so that makes the inside diameter even smaller, and it means there’s a super sharp metal lip that will likely scratch your bottle mouth, and seems rather dangerous to me. The openings for both measure at 1.5”, so obviously the lid won’t fit on this bottle.
As you can see in the first photo, it doesn’t even come come close to fitting. I measured the opening of my bottle before I purchased, and was confident it would fit. So, I love this idea, but it does not fit my Pure Drinkware cola bottle.
